I have read many times the "Sila Ke 6: Kreatif Sampai Mati" book from Wahyu Aditya, an animator from Indonesia and also the founder of Hello Motion Academy. There are some points from that "magic" book which I already implemented in my real life and give a positive result :

  • Force yourself to stay creative in any way, don't wait for the inspiration comes to do the creative work
  • Execute the ideas immediately when it comes to your mind because if you choose to postpone it, there is a big chance that the idea will never be executed.

After I implemented those two points, the result is the creation of my design portfolio account on Dribbble, and the latest one is this blog itself.

The creation of my Dribbble profile happened because at that time my desire to learn more about UI/UX Design is really high. So, I start to find any information needed for how to start to learn about UI/UX. And after I got all of the information,  I immediately intend to make the first design.

In the beginning, I got confused about what kind of design that I will create. So I start to googling using this kind of keywords: design challenge, client generator. The point is, I push myself to do anything for getting the brief that contained with the design project.

After a while, I got a website called Daily UI. This website has a feature to send an email every day to the subscriber. The content of the email is a brief about the design project that will be different every single day. And we will receive the email every day (except for the weekend) for 100 days. So, one day one different design project.

For me, after following the challenge from Daily UI, I feel really encouraged to solve and finish the design project every day based on the brief that I got from the email. The daily challenge also makes me can use the time more effective to finish the present challenge, so I will be ready when the next challenge comes.

After one month following the Daily UI's challenge, the number of my uploaded design on Dribbble was quite a lot. And maybe because of this, I got a good impact on my freelance job which ends in a deal with the client.

Another story about the implemented point from the book "Sila Ke 6: Kreatif Sampai Mati" is the creation of this blog.

This blog was originally born from my habit of reading books that miraculously appeared again after a long time ago. Feeling that the momentum is right to do many positive things, I decided to execute the idea to write again on the blog.

After getting some inspiration about what kind of looks that I think will fit my blog, the interface concept of this blog is minimalist and focusing on the content. And then this blog is officially active.

That's my story about the good impact of staying creative without waiting for the inspiration comes which combined with the idea execution as soon as possible.

I believe that it can be applied in many job fields, not limited only for the design works.
